And, with this year’s event less than three months away on Sunday 4 th October, Dougie Mac is urging the local community to take part in support of their local hospice.

Deborah Vickers, Head of Business and Events Fundraising at Dougie Mac, said:

“The Potters ‘Arf is the highlight of the local running calendar and we’re so grateful that Dougie Mac is always really well supported. Many people take part in memory of a loved one, while others simply want to support their local hospice.
“This year we’re hoping that even more people will take on the challenge, whether it’s running or walking, on their own or in relay teams, to raise money for Dougie Mac and help support our specialist care and support services for local families.”

While the Potters ‘Arf is the main event for runners, there are also opportunities for those who want to take part at a gentler pace, including a walking half marathon and a fun run for children. There are also relay races for runners and walkers, which mean you can take part as a team, covering a shorter distance each.

Deborah added:

“By taking part in the Potters ‘Arf for Dougie Mac, you can be sure that every stride you take, whether on your own, with friends, or alongside your kids in the junior race, turns into vital care for adults, young adults, and children facing a life-limiting illness.”

Registration for this year’s Potters ‘Arf, on 4 th October, is open now. Visit www.potters-arf.co.uk for more information and to enter today.
