We need your help. Introducing the Autumn Edition, our first Staffordshire Signal special edition magazine, with autumn events and editorial content on the website too, so you never miss what is on this Halloween, bonfire night and beyond.

I have a confession. Autumn is my favourite time of year, and it is nearly here! The moment the mornings turn crisp, the leaves start turning, and the first pumpkin spiced latte of the season lands in my hand, I am fully converted. Halloween, bonfire night, misty walks through heritage parkland, the whole thing. I love it.
And every single year, we miss half of it.
Not because it is not happening. Staffordshire is bursting with things to do this time of year, brilliant events, beautiful walks, cosy places to visit, markets, trails, fireworks displays that light up half the county. It is happening. We just do not always know it is happening, until it has already been and gone, and someone posts a photo the next day that makes my heart sink a little.
I know I am not the only one. So many of you have told me the same thing. There is so much on in Staffordshire, and so little joined up way of finding it. Small events get lost. Independent places get overlooked in favour of whatever has the biggest marketing budget. And readers like you miss out on the best of your own county simply because nobody put it all in one place.
So we are doing something about it.
Introducing The Staffordshire Signal Autumn Edition
This is our first ever Special Edition, and it is dedicated entirely to the best of autumn right here on your doorstep. Halloween, bonfire night, crisp days out in our county's stunning heritage spaces, the walks, the markets, the pumpkin patches, the places that deserve to be busy and are not, because not enough people know they exist.
Our mission has always been the same: independent, local journalism that actually serves Staffordshire, built by the county, for the county. This edition is that mission in its purest form. We want to show off the best of what we have got, and just as importantly, help people actually find it.
The magazine will be out at the end of September and will run right through October and November, so there is plenty of time for it to do its job.

Why we need you, if you run a business or an event
Here is the honest truth. The Staffordshire Signal is free for every single reader, and that is never going to change. But free to read does not mean free to make. Every issue costs real money to write, design, and physically print and distribute across the county, and none of that happens by magic. We are a not for profit, and we cannot keep this magazine free, independent, and in as many hands as possible without the businesses and organisations who choose to support us through advertising. Every advert in this edition is what keeps the presses running and the Signal free for everyone to read.
So for this edition, and this edition only, we are offering something big. If you have an autumn event, a seasonal offer, or simply a place people should be visiting this time of year, we would love to help you shout about it, and we are making it as easy as possible to say yes.
We are offering our biggest discount of the year, our full twelve month advertising rate, for a single one off advert in this edition. Print and digital together, one purchase, no extra charge either way. And it does not stop at the page it sits on. We are also building dedicated autumn features across our website and Signal Weekly throughout October and November, round ups of where to go and what to do, and our advertisers get folded straight into that coverage too. That is advertising that keeps working long after the ink is dry.
This offer will not hang around. To lock in this rate, we need you booked in by 21 August.
If that is you, get in touch and let us tell your story this autumn.

Why we need you, if you are a reader
If you are not a business, you can still be part of this, and honestly, this bit matters just as much.
If you have not already, subscribe to The Staffordshire Signal, free or paid, whichever suits you. Every subscriber tells advertisers that this magazine reaches real people who care about their county, and that is what keeps businesses willing to support us, which is what keeps the whole thing free. It genuinely is that simple. You subscribing helps us help you find your own doorstep.
And if you are feeling generous
We will not pretend we are above asking. Running an independent, not for profit magazine is genuinely hard work, and if you have ever read something in the Signal that made you smile, or sent you somewhere brilliant you would never have found otherwise, a small tip goes further than you would think.
Support local journalism
Help us grow the Signal
Every tip goes towards expanding what we cover, more reporters, more events, more of Staffordshire's stories told properly. If this was worth reading, help us do more of it.
Every contribution supports reporting, photography, and storytelling across the county.
Staffordshire is, without question, the most beautiful county in England, and this autumn it deserves to be seen properly. Let us show you where to go.
