The popular event will take over the town centre on Saturday 25th July before returning on Bank Holiday Saturday 29th August, with the second event forming part of Newcastle's Jazz & Blues Festival weekend.

Delivered by Newcastle-under-Lyme BID in partnership with Independent Street, Castle Food & Drink Fest brings together street food, artisan traders, local businesses and live entertainment in the heart of Newcastle.

The first event on Saturday 25th July promises a full day of entertainment from 10am until 4pm. Visitors can enjoy an exciting line up of street food including Chefsey Africana, E.I Foods, Special Persian Dessert, Didsbury Coal and Backyard Burgers, alongside the town's fantastic cafés, restaurants, bars and market traders.

Entertainment will run throughout the day with music from 6 Towns Radio, live performances and the debut of Castle Bingo. Taking place at 12 noon and 2pm, the free to play games will give visitors the chance to win a range of prizes to spend with businesses in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Families are well catered for too, with free face painting from 11am until 3pm and a free creative workshop delivered as part of Get Creative in Castle. Artist Holly Johnson will be hosting a tie dye workshop using natural food dyes at the Lancaster Building, giving children and families the chance to create their own colourful designs inspired by the festival.

The celebrations continue on Saturday 29th August as Castle Food & Drink Fest returns alongside Newcastle's much-loved Jazz & Blues Festival. Visitors can once again enjoy a fantastic selection of food traders, artisan stalls and family activities, while live music takes centre stage throughout the day from the 6 Towns Radio gazebo. Performances will include Ava Ralph, Nettles, Alisha Jean and more artists to be announced.

Charlotte Pearce, BID Manager at Newcastle-under-Lyme BID, said:

“Whether you're a foodie or simply looking for a great day out, Castle Food & Drink Fest is the perfect excuse to spend a summer Saturday in Newcastle. There's nothing better than enjoying delicious food in the sunshine, listening to live music and soaking up the atmosphere around the town centre.
We're especially excited to bring Castle Food & Drink Fest back over the August Bank Holiday as part of our Jazz & Blues Festival weekend. With fantastic live music filling the streets and an incredible selection of street food and local businesses to discover, it's set to create a brilliant atmosphere right across the town.
We've got some seriously tasty traders joining us this year, so our only advice is to come hungry... and maybe wear something with a stretchy waistband!"

More details, trader announcements and entertainment schedules will be released over the coming weeks.
