Viral coffee rave sensation Rant and Ramble to kick off Recoverfest in Uttoxeter

The alcohol-free morning rave movement that has collaborated with Davina McCall and attracted national media attention is coming to Staffordshire

Recoverfest will begin with an almighty energy boost this September as viral wellness movement Rant & Ramble brings its headline-making Coffee Rave to Uttoxeter Racecourse.

Rant & Ramble’s alcohol-free raves have captured the attention of thousands across the UK, generated more than one million views online and featured in national media. The group recently collaborated with Davina McCall’s Begin Again podcast on a sold-out London Coffee Rave attended by hundreds of people and held in support of cancer charity Maggie’s.

Now the phenomenon is coming to Staffordshire for a special pre-festival event ahead of Recoverfest, the free family festival celebrating recovery, wellbeing and community.

Taking place from 10.30am to 11.30am on Sunday, 6 September, the Recoverfest Coffee Rave will feature a live set from DJ PBH alongside Romi Foxx on drums.

Festivalgoers can expect huge tunes, live percussion, coffee, dancing and all the atmosphere of a traditional rave – without the alcohol or the hangover.

The event reflects the shared values at the heart of both Rant & Ramble and Recoverfest: connection, community, mental wellbeing and the freedom to experience joy without alcohol.

Sam Wilcox, Recoverfest event organiser, said:

“This is going to be an incredible way to begin Recoverfest. Rant & Ramble has created something that feels genuinely exciting – it has all the energy, music and sense of release you associate with a rave, but it is completely alcohol-free and centred around connection and feeling good.

“Their Coffee Raves have become a national phenomenon, so bringing that experience to Uttoxeter feels huge. Whether people are in recovery, sober curious, supporting someone they love or simply want to start their Sunday dancing with a coffee in their hand, everyone will be made to feel welcome.

“Recoverfest is about celebrating recovery loudly and proudly, challenging stigma and showing that alcohol-free spaces can be vibrant, joyful and full of life. We can’t think of a better way to kick off the festival.”

The Coffee Rave will take place immediately before the main Recoverfest programme, which runs from 12pm until 6pm at Uttoxeter Racecourse.

Recoverfest is a free, family-friendly and alcohol-free festival bringing together thousands of people for a day of live music, inspirational stories, wellbeing activities, children’s entertainment and community connection.

Singer-songwriter and recovery advocate Lucy Spraggan will headline the main stage, joined by Amy Jo & The Spangles, Sons of Jericho, Detox Factor Live, The Song Loft, Shook, the V62 Choir and Michelle Moss School of Dance.

The wider festival will also feature resilience speaker and bestselling author Josh Connolly, yoga and meditation, breathwork, drumming, creative activities, inflatables, face painting, food, community organisations and support services.
