Tear Up Festival 2026 brings five days of weaving and craft to Staffordshire

Tear Up Festival 2026 will bring craft lovers, weaving experts and families together for five days of creativity in the Staffordshire countryside.

A five day celebration of weaving, craft and countryside creativity is coming to Staffordshire next summer.

Tear Up Festival 2026 will take place at Newton Farm, Newton, Rugeley, from 26 to 30 August 2026, bringing together expert tutors, hands on workshops, demonstrations, family activities and evening entertainment in the countryside around Blithfield Reservoir.

The festival is being billed as Staffordshire’s premier weaving and craft festival, with more than 100 workshops covering willow, hazel, ash and rush techniques.

Set against a rural Staffordshire backdrop, the event is designed for experienced makers, curious beginners and families looking for something creative to enjoy together.

A festival for makers, beginners and families

Tear Up Festival will offer expert led workshops across traditional and contemporary weaving, with sessions suitable for a range of experience levels.

Visitors will be able to learn practical skills, explore traditional basketry and take part in creative sessions guided by weaving specialists.

Alongside the workshops, the programme includes live demonstrations, interactive talks and family friendly craft activities, giving visitors the chance to see artisan techniques up close and try something new.

For those who want a shorter visit, the Saturday and Sunday festival days will be open to ticket holders, with drop in sessions, sculptural workshops and immersive craft experiences.

Creativity in the Staffordshire countryside

The setting is a key part of the festival’s appeal, with Newton Farm close to Blithfield Reservoir and surrounded by countryside.

The event promises a mix of hands on learning, craft community and relaxed festival atmosphere, with vegetarian meals served throughout and evening talks from expert tutors.

A Friday night ceilidh will also form part of the programme, giving visitors the chance to unwind after a day of making, learning and exploring.
