What’s next: Tickets will go on sale later this autumn, with the trial running until 31 March 2027.

Passengers travelling with London Northwestern Railway (LNR) will soon have the chance to travel in an exclusive carriage on board thanks to the launch of a new Standard Plus ticket.
London Northwestern Railway operates thousands of services every week connecting London Euston with the West Midlands and North West, including routes through Staffordshire serving Tamworth, Lichfield Trent Valley, Stafford, Stone and Stoke-on-Trent. Providing an important rail link for residents, commuters and visitors travelling to and from the county, the operator has recently introduced a brand new fleet of electric trains which have significantly increased capacity on routes to and from London Euston.
To take advantage of this extra space on board, LNR has today (Monday 19 Oct) announced it will soon be introducing a Standard Plus ticket which will offer customers the chance to sit in a dedicated area of the train with at-seat features not available in other areas.
Jonny Wiseman, LNR customer experience and commercial director, said:
“The introduction of our fantastic new Class 730 fleet means we have more than 40,000 extra seats at the busiest times to make journeys more comfortable for our customers.
“We know from listening to our customers there is demand for access to a guaranteed seat in a dedicated area of the train which is why we are excited to unveil Standard Plus.
“Tickets for Standard Plus will be going on sale soon and regular customers will start to notice new signage appearing in the relevant carriages over coming weeks – stay tuned to our website and social media channels for the latest details.”
Standard Plus tickets will be available for purchase later in the autumn on a trial basis and will remain available until Wednesday 31 March 2027.
