Community and voluntary organisations across Staffordshire are invited to apply for up to £5,000 to help boost the emotional health and wellbeing of young people.
What’s new: The Young People’s Emotional Support Fund offers grants of up to £5,000 for projects supporting young people’s emotional wellbeing.
Worth knowing: Projects must take place in Staffordshire, excluding Stoke-on-Trent, and support young people aged 11 to 19, or up to 25 for those with SEND or an EHCP.
What’s next: Eligible organisations have until 30 October 2026 to apply through the Community Foundation for Staffordshire & Shropshire.

The Young People’s Emotional Support Fund aims to support projects which help young people build confidence, resilience and positive relationships, while improving their emotional wellbeing and understanding of where to find help.
Staffordshire County Council has commissioned the Community Foundation for Staffordshire & Shropshire to deliver the fund, building on the Foundation’s expertise in managing funding programmes and supporting organisations across the county.
Funding is available for projects supporting young people aged 11 to 19, or up to 25 for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
A wide range of organisations can apply, with funding available for creative and inclusive approaches to helping young people develop skills, confidence and resilience.
Su Beardmore, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People at Staffordshire County Council, said:
“Local community and voluntary organisations play a vital role in supporting young people's mental health and wellbeing.
“These grants will help communities deliver early support and positive activities that build confidence, resilience and help young people thrive. I’d urge eligible groups to make an application and the more creative ideas, the better.”
The fund is open to constituted voluntary and community groups, registered charities and social enterprises which have been established for more than 12 months. Projects must take place in Staffordshire, excluding Stoke-on-Trent.
Funding can support a range of project costs, including activities and events, training, equipment, revenue costs and proportionate core costs.
Joe Palmer, programmes officer at the Community Foundation for Staffordshire & Shropshire, said:
“We know that local organisations understand their communities and the young people they work with, and are often able to create support that feels accessible, positive and relevant.
“This funding provides an opportunity for organisations to develop new ideas or build on activities they already know work well.”
The closing date for application is 30 October 2026. For further information about the fund, eligibility and how to apply, visit the Community Foundation for Staffordshire & Shropshire website.
