Caudwell Children has been confirmed as the official charity partner for the Staffordshire FA TopCashback Ability Counts League, strengthening a shared commitment to supporting disabled and neurodivergent children across the county.
What’s new: Caudwell Children is the official charity partner for the Staffordshire FA TopCashback Ability Counts League.
Why it matters: Families involved in the league will be connected with practical and emotional support, including the charity’s Kids’ Activity Club.
What’s next: Caudwell Children will deliver neurodiversity training to Staffordshire FA staff, coaches and parents.

The Ability Counts League is a PAN disability football league offering young players with a broad spectrum of physical, learning, and sensory impairments to play competitive football in an inclusive and supportive environment. The growth and development of the Ability Counts League is supported by the County FA’s Disability Football Partner, Staffordshire-based business, TopCashback.
Through the partnership, families involved in the league will be signposted to Caudwell Children’s wide range of services, providing practical and emotional support for disabled and neurodivergent children. This includes the charity’s Kids’ Activity Club, which provides opportunities for children to have fun, build confidence, try new activities, and make lasting friendships.
The collaboration also creates a clear pathway for young aspiring footballers with disabilities to access flexible and inclusive playing opportunities across Staffordshire.
Tom Sherratt, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Caudwell Children, said:
“We’re really proud of this partnership, which embodies our shared commitment to empowering children of all abilities, encouraging inclusivity, and celebrating the unique talents of every young player. Together, we’re creating opportunities for disabled and neurodivergent children to reach their full potential - on and off the pitch.”
The partnership will also see the Caudwell Children team deliver neurodiversity training to Staffordshire FA staff, coaches and parents, helping to build understanding and confidence in supporting neurodivergent young people within grassroots football.
Gareth Thomas, Commercial & Partnerships Lead at Staffordshire FA, said:
“The Staffordshire FA TopCashback Ability Counts League is about creating opportunities for every child to enjoy the game and feel part of the football community. Partnering with Caudwell Children allows us to further support the children and families involved, connecting them with specialist services while continuing to develop inclusive football environments across Staffordshire. We’re excited about the positive difference this partnership can make both on and off the pitch.”
Both organisations are also exploring opportunities with commercial partners to enhance the support available to families, including welcome kit bags for teams and dedicated family support sessions.
Founded in 2000 by entrepreneur, business leader and philanthropist John Caudwell, Caudwell Children has grown over the past 25 years into a leading UK charity dedicated to supporting disabled and neurodivergent children and their families. All donations directly fund practical and emotional services, which have been carefully developed with the direct input of children and families.
