Rockets are set to light up the sky as one of the region’s biggest bonfire and firework nights is set to return at Weston Park - and you can win a chance to kick it all off.

The annual family event will take place on Sunday November 8 in the grounds of the historic parkland on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border.
The popular show will see two dazzling firework displays across the evening engineered by Fire Monkey Pyro, with a giant bonfire and a traditional funfair. There will also be a host of street food vendors at the event.
A big raffle in aid of the Weston Park Foundation, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, will also give visitors the chance to press the button to kick off the displays.
Rebecca Alexander, head of estate operations at Weston Park, is looking forward to seeing large crowds gather again for one of the biggest events in the region, with early bird tickets already sold out.
She said:
“This is one of our flagship annual events that brings such excitement not just for the team here at Weston, but also for the big crowds that turn up year after year.
“We’ve got Fire Monkey Pyro returning to Weston to deliver two fantastic firework displays. They were a massive hit last year and we had such positive feedback.
“There will also be lots more to keep families entertained with a fun fair and a host of top-quality street food vendors.
“We look forward to welcoming visitors for another great evening.”
You can also win the chance to be the one to kick off the firework displays by entering Weston Park’s Big Red Button Raffle.
On the Weston website you can select the raffle and book your tickets for just £2, and one winning entry will be selected to press the button and officially launch the display.
You can also purchase a ticket for a nominated friend or family member, and you will have your photo taken by the official photographer, with all funds raised going towards the vital work of the Weston Park Foundation in what is their 40th anniversary.
Gates open at 3pm with the firework displays planned for 6pm and 7.30pm.
The bonfire will be lit at 5pm and ticket details are all available on weston-park.com.
Tickets cost £17 for adults, £10 for children between 4 and 14 years, with under 4s going free, all tickets need to be pre booked as there will be no gate ticket availability.
Why the Signal exists
Real news takes time. Thanks for taking yours.
You've just read a story that took time to get right. No clickbait, no racing to be first, no ads chasing you down the page.
I started The Staffordshire Signal because I got fed up of local news that chased clicks instead of stories. We're independent, not-for-profit, IMPRESS-regulated and owned right here, so we answer to nobody but you.
The honest bit: local news only survives if local people choose it. If we don't, it goes.
