With just a week to go until Strictly Knot Dancing returns on Friday 6 November, organisers have announced that the show will be streamed live for the first time, giving supporters the chance to enjoy the show and vote for their favourite contestant from the comfort of their own home.

With this year’s twelve contestants already raising more than £100,000 for Dougie Mac, organisers are encouraging people to tune in, cheer them on and help smash last year’s incredible £145,000 total.

The charity dance event returns to The King’s Hall, Stoke-on-Trent, with the live stream starting at 9pm. Access costs £10 plus booking fees, allowing family, friends and supporters who cannot attend in person to share in the excitement wherever they are.

Viewers will be able to watch the contestants take to the dance floor with their professional partners and vote from home for their favourite. It is a chance to make a night of it with family and friends, enjoy the performances and support a much-loved local charity.

The contestants, drawn from businesses and organisations across Staffordshire, have spent months balancing rehearsals and fundraising with their day jobs. Having already passed the £100,000 milestone, they are now preparing for their moment in the spotlight as the final fundraising push gathers pace.

Strictly Come Dancing champions Darren Bennett and Lilia Kopylova return to the judging panel alongside David Webster, Chief Executive of Dougie Mac, and head judge Ollie Hand of The Sanctuary Dance School. Martin Tideswell and Josie Morris will once again host the evening.

Martin Tideswell, Director of Commercial Strategy at Staffordshire University, and host of Strictly Knot Dancing, said:

“I can’t wait to return to host Strictly Knot Dancing. Last year’s atmosphere was fantastic, and it’s wonderful that this year we can bring that excitement into people’s homes too. Get your family and friends together, settle in and enjoy the show — you can even vote for your favourite contestant from your sofa. It’s a brilliant way to be part of the evening wherever you are.”

Josie Morris, CEO of Woolcool, host and organiser of Strictly Knot Dancing, said:

“Having already raised more than £100,000 for Dougie Mac, our contestants have achieved something truly special before they’ve even stepped onto the dance floor. We’ve seen how much time and effort they’ve put into their fundraising and rehearsals, and we couldn’t be prouder of them.

“With just over a week to go, we’re hoping to smash last year’s £145,000 total. Opening up the show through livestreaming gives even more people the chance to support the event. Please book your access, spread the word and help us make this an unforgettable night for a charity that means so much to our community.”

Organised by Knot Events CIC with support from The Sanctuary Dance School, Strictly Knot Dancing brings the community together to raise funds for Dougie Mac and its care for local people and families.

Organisers are urging supporters to book livestream access, spread the word and get behind the contestants. Whether watching at The King’s Hall or cheering from the sofa, everyone can help make this year’s event the most successful yet.
