Milton Parish Centre gets a facelift thanks to council contractors

Stoke-on-Trent based contractors Novus Property Solutions have stepped in to help transform Milton Parish Centre.

The company’s work included the demolition of outdated toilets and the installation of new ladies, gents and accessibility toilets. They also provided new flooring, as well as decorating the new facilities.

The work was unveiled to the public on earlier this month, when the Parish Centre – attached to St Philip and St James Church - invited local residents and ward councillors to an open morning.

The Parish Centre, which has supported the church since it was first built in 1975, is a well-used and much-loved facility. It welcomes community use and private bookings with family parties and volunteer groups.

The new toilet facilities are part of a larger improvement plan which is underway.

Novus Property Solutions is just one of a number of contractors working with the council under its’ new corporate and social responsibility rules. Contractors are required, as part of their contract, to donate time, labour or materials to community projects and good causes.

Councillor Duncan Walker - Cabinet Member for Safe and Resilient Communities and Housing at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, as well as Ward Councillor for Baddeley, Milton and Norton – said:
