Firefighters are continuing to tackle a large grassland fire near High Offley, Stafford, with nine appliances attending multiple fields well alight.

Firefighters are continuing to tackle a large grassland fire in Stafford after around 40 acres of land caught fire near High Offley.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called at 12.30pm today, Tuesday 25 August, following reports of a fire on land off Peggs Lane.

Nine fire appliances attended the scene, where crews found multiple fields well alight.

Firefighters are using main jets, hose reel jets, a water carrier and a wildfire hose as efforts continue to extinguish the blaze.

Thankfully, nobody has been reported injured.

The fire service has also thanked members of the local farming community who have been using their own equipment to help contain the fire.

Please avoid the area where possible.
