A special finale for the Staffy Trail
Thousands of people from Staffordshire and beyond have spent the past two months following the Staffy Trail and discovering sculptures of Staffy, the new visitor mascot for Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent.
Staffy has become an adventure hero and storyteller, helping visitors explore the area’s history, attractions and places to visit.
The art and history adventure trail comes to an end on Friday 17 July, with the Big Staffy Stroll taking place the following morning as a celebration of the trail, Staffordshire and the county’s much loved dogs.
Visitors will be able to discover a mini version of the Staffy Trail during the event, using the trail app to unlock rewards, discounts and activities.
Walk through Weston Park
The day will begin with a leisurely guided dog walk through Weston Park’s grounds, which were designed by Capability Brown.
The route will take visitors through scenic areas of the estate, including special locations away from the usual visitor paths.
Photos will be taken after the walk, with guests welcome to remain at Weston Park throughout the day to explore its grounds, attractions, cafés and restaurant.
Refreshments will also be available from the onsite catering facilities.
Meet Staffordshire’s famous canine mascot
Among the special guests will be Sergeant Watchman and Private Watchman, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier mascots of the Staffordshire Regimental Association.
The event will offer dog lovers the chance to meet the mascots while joining hundreds of other visitors and their four legged companions.
There will also be an opportunity to learn more about the Senior Staffy Dog Club Rescue, a charity supporting older Staffies and helping them find loving homes.
The gathering will help raise awareness of the charity and the work being carried out to support Staffordshire Bull Terriers during their later years.
Discover more of Staffordshire
Alongside the walk and mini trail, visitors will be able to find inspiration for days out and discover more of Staffordshire’s attractions and hidden gems.
Whether visitors have completed the full Staffy Trail, are proud Staffy owners or simply enjoy spending time with dogs, everyone is invited to take part.
Tickets are available at a discounted price of £6.50 per person, plus booking fee. Children under the age of four can attend free of charge.
Admission includes access to Weston Park’s grounds, attractions, cafés and restaurant throughout the day.
