Review | Ghost at the Regent Theatre, Stoke-on-Trent

Ghost. If you've seen the film your expectations will be high. If you haven't you might be filled with different ones.... the actors have big shoes to fill either way. Musicals are always a magical experience and this was no exception.

I mean, Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore? That's massive right? And some of the biggest songs ever! But wow, the actors nail them at all the right moments. We absolutely don't want to give too much away because you need to see this performance to experience it yourself - having seen so many West End performances this is up there with those and we felt like we were back in London tonight.

You could absolutely feel the passion from Rebekah Lowings and Josh St. Clair from their roles. There were magical moments that film does that you don't think stage can do and they did!!

The supporting cast are phenomenal, the way they transition from one role to another is so clever and makes you believe it's a cast of many. Slick and dedicated.

Oda Mae Brown's comic timing was hilarious while also delivering powerful, soulful vocals. She is formidable.

Seeing Les Dennis' roles was such a treat, showcasing not only his charm but his impressive range as a performer. His enduring career in both television and theatre has evolved beautifully from his early days with Dustin Gee in the iconic comedy duo, bringing laughter to millions, to now captivating audiences on stage. Les’s longevity in entertainment is a testament to his versatility and talent, proving he’s as compelling in musicals as he was in comedy. It’s inspiring to see him still thriving and exploring new roles, delighting long term fans and winning over new ones, to add he can hold a tune very well.

Overall, Ghost is incredible, captivating and the vocals are exceptional.

You almost need to forget the film and just think about the musical and the actors because they nail it. Well done touring cast of 2024!
