Middleport Artisan Christmas Market returns for a second year running at iconic venue

Following the success of last year's Middleport Artisan Christmas Markets, three new festive events have been announced at Middleport Pottery as the Re-Form Heritage team collaborate with Castle Artisan Events for the second year running.

Featuring talented traders from in and around the Staffordshire region, the first market gets underway on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th November between 10am and 4pm and will feature an array of gifts, artwork and delectable foods alongside a community of permanent independent retailers lining Harper Street and Port Street Range located within the grounds of Middleport Pottery.

As the big day approaches, a further two festive-themed markets will take place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December, with the final event scheduled on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December.

The award-winning heritage visitor attraction looks forward to welcoming visitors to explore the artisan stalls and many other attractions on offer as the Christmas season draws near, making it the ideal venue for a spot of Christmas shopping and to help get visitors into the Christmas spirit.

Each event will feature different artisan traders alongside some Middleport Artisan Market ‘regulars’, meaning that there will be plenty of new and exciting stalls to browse across all three weekends.

The events have been specifically tailored to showcase the talents of artisan traders and local creatives from Staffordshire and neighboring areas as well as promote the variety of other attractions available at the Re-Form heritage venue to a wider audience.

With a variety of gift ideas including handcrafted jewellery, locally made ceramics, artwork, cards and Christmas decorations, bath and self-care products plus tempting food gift ideas suited to the festive season, shoppers can expect to find unique items not available on any high street and can enjoy the ambience of the venue while browsing the stalls and visiting the community of creatives located on the heritage Harper Street and Port Street areas nearby.

Admission to all events is free of charge with ample parking available. For those that wish to stay a little longer to soak up the seasonal ambience, the Packhouse Café will also be open and offering a mouthwatering menu of light snacks, hot drinks and homemade cakes.

Louise Bartley, Marketing & Communications Manager at Middleport Pottery, said “Last year’s Christmas Artisan Markets were a huge success, with visitors enjoying the stalls and seasonal ambience Middleport Pottery, a venue that means so much to local visitors, so we want to invite shoppers, ceramics enthusiasts and those looking to get into the Christmas spirit to come and enjoy the magic of Middleport Pottery again this year.”

Event co-host Jake Burgess from Castle Artisan Events is anticipating a good footfall at the events that span the three weekend dates “From popular artisan traders who have gained quite the following to new creative faces, we are delighted that so many local makers, bakers and creators have chosen to attend the Middleport Artisan Christmas Markets this year.”

“Middleport Pottery is such an important piece of our local heritage, so we’re hoping that everyone comes to enjoy the beautiful venue and discover the amazing creativity that exists here in our area.”
