2,700 people took to the streets of Stafford as the town celebrated the tenth anniversary of its popular 10K race.
What’s new: The tenth Stafford 10K took place in bright sunshine on Sunday 20 September 2026.
By the numbers: Around 2,700 runners turned up for the event, with nearly 2,400 people completing the race around Stafford.
What’s next: Entries are open for the Stafford Half Marathon on Sunday 21 March 2027, with early bird prices available until midnight on 10 October 2026.

Stafford was filled with runners and supporters on Sunday morning as the Stafford 10K celebrated its tenth anniversary.
The race began at 9.30am, with 2,700 people running around the town.
Lee Graten claimed first place in the men’s race with an impressive time of 30 minutes and 33 seconds. James Horman finished second, followed by Steven O’Neill in third.
Stephanie Giles was the first woman to finish, completing the course in 37 minutes and 34 seconds. Laura Dutton took second place, with Rachel Doherty finishing third.

Alongside the main prizes, special King and Queen of the Castle awards recognised the first runners to make it up the hill to the entrance of Stafford Castle.
The winners were joined by Stafford Borough Mayor Mark Winnington and Mayoress Rosie Winnington for the presentation of the Stafford 10K prizes.
More than 150 volunteers, staff members and contractors helped to make the anniversary event possible.
Support was provided by Katharine House Hospice, 21st Stafford Scouts, Stafford and Rugeley Sea Cadets, Stafford Triathlon Club, St John Ambulance, Freedom Leisure, Stafford Gatehouse Theatre and Stafford Borough Council.

Stafford Half Marathon early bird offer
Runners looking for their next challenge can now book a place in the 2027 Stafford Half Marathon, taking place on Sunday 21 March 2027.
Early bird entry costs £37.50 for non affiliated runners and £34.50 for affiliated runners. The entry fee includes postage of the race number.
The special offer ends at midnight on 10 October 2026.
