A new care home in Stafford has announced the appointment of its home manager and customer relations manager ahead of its opening.

Katy Anderson will be taking the reins as home manager at Care UK’s Hartwood when it opens its Cannock Road doors in November.
Katy brings with her 15 years of experience in the care sector, including three years as a home manager, most recently at Foxland Grange in Wolverhampton.
Her professional qualifications include a degree in nursing, being a registered mental health nurse and has an RCN qualification in leadership.
Katy said:
“Joining the team at Hartwood is a fantastic opportunity to embed the highest-quality standards from the beginning.
“I look forward to seeing everyone who comes through the doors and to nurturing a strong, positive team here.”
Katy describes strong leadership, clear communication and compassion as key to her role, alongside championing person-led approaches and supporting teams to grow professionally.
She added:
“Seeing people live their life to the fullest and helping people when most in need is my favourite part of the role. I love talking to people and making a positive impact on someone’s day.”
Alongside Katy will be Charmaine Nicolson. As well as previously holding the customer relations manager role at Care UK sister home Chandler Court, Charmaine is experienced in working closely with families in people-focused roles such as being a business owner of a premium housekeeping business, with an emphasis on helping senior clients in their homes.
Charmaine said:
“I’m excited to be joining Hartwood from the very beginning of its journey. It’s a fantastic opportunity to shape a new home, build strong links with the local community and ensure that, from opening day, residents and families feel proud to call Hartwood their home.”
Paula Gresham, Regional Director for Care UK, said:
“Hartwood represents an important investment for Care UK, and we are delighted to welcome Katy and Charmaine to lead the home.
“Katy brings extensive experience in commissioning and managing care homes, as well as a strong commitment to person-led care. Having the right leadership in place is essential to creating a home residents and families can trust, and both Katy and Charmaine’s knowledge and approach will be invaluable as Hartwood prepares to open.”
Designed to enable residents to lead active and fulfilling lives, while also promoting independence, Hartwood will incorporate plenty of space for hobby and leisure activities. The layout of the building will be configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
