We all play a role in keeping each other safe. That’s why as part of our Door-to-Door Safety Standard, riders and drivers are required to wear a face covering or mask.
To help protect your driver, you must wear a face covering or mask and sit in the back on every ride.* Drivers can cancel your trip if you do not wear one, or report this in the app, which can lead to loss of access to your Uber account and deactivation.
Your driver is also required to wear a face covering or mask to help protect you. If your driver is not wearing one, you can let us know by reporting this in the Uber app.
*exemptions apply, learn more here.
We’ve put together these safety tips to help keep you and your driver safe:
Wash or sanitise your hands before and after every trip for at least 20 seconds, as recommended by the NHS.
Remember to sit in the back seat to leave more space between you and your driver.
Roll the windows down to keep the air circulating and help reduce the risk of transmitting illness.
If travelling with luggage, handle your own belongings to help reduce the risk of exposure.
