Port Vale stay second after recording their fifth away victory on the bounce. The leagues leading scorer Tom Pope bagged another 2 goals to take his tally to 11 so early in this campaign. He is the fastest Vale player to hit 10 goals since Tom Nolan back in 1933. In the pre match interview below, Terry Bossons asks him if he thinks he has matured in the last 12 months. 

The only downside to this match is Doug Loft is injured and the captain may be out for a few weeks which may be a problem for Micky Adams small squad.The boss must be happy though with the 3 points after failing to beat Dagenham and Redbridge in midweek.

This sets Vale up for Tuesdays short trip to Walsall on Tuesday night in The Johnsons Paint Trophy.
