Kulture Klub 28th June 2012

The studio was packed for the Kulture Klub with Leeka this Wednesday!  Read below to find out more about her guests!

RICHARD
AYRES, (AUTHOR OF “THE FURTHER EDUCATION OF MIKE CARTER”)

There’s
a wicked delight in seeing a writer at the top of their game, really
writing about what they understand, and in a full-on playful journey
through the fall and comeuppance of a right randy old FE tutor,
author Richard Ayres has come up trumps in his excellent new book,
“The
Further Education of Mike Carter.”

A former FE professional, Richard turned to writing in later life,
and has blossomed as an accomplished author since retirement, with
Mike Carter being his third novel, following strongly on from his
previous tomes
“Waterloo
Sunset”

and
“The
Pennine Incident”.

Richard reflected on his work and themes as a writer, and spoke to
Leeka about his literary journey.

Publishing group, (Professor T.V and Nadra Kishore from Madras in
India, and Shameem from Sri Lanka), to speak about their impressions
on Hay, their reflections on the differences between the Indian and
British Publishing worlds, and a very special event of their own
planned for the 24
th
of July at midday at the North Staffordshire Press premises on Leek
Road.

RUSSELL GREGORYS EXHIBITION “AN IDIOT WALKS” AT ARTWAVES

All
artists seek to express their selves and explore their moods, to say
something original to the world. In his new show “
An
Idiot Walks,”
 at
the renowned
Artwaves

,
Staffordshire
Artist
Russell Gregory
 is
absolutely fearless in his approach to his work, a passionate,
stunningly honest and striking response to both the world around him,
and inside himself. In a dazzling display of fearful moods, scratched
poetically with caveman abandon, Russell’s work fills the two
Gallery Rooms at Artwaves with a vibrant shout at the world as an
idiot walks.  The
Exhibition
runs every day for two weeks until Saturday 14th July, between 11
am-4pm,and
