Phillipa's Sunday League Review

So another week another review, and this week was a week of many Cup competitions, league games and a hell of a lot of goals. With only 5 games in the whole PDSL being postponed, that still leaves me with 13 games to pick the bones out of.

So without further ado, to start in the Premier division where we had a nine goal thriller in the game between Caverswall and Shamblers, 4-5 the game ended with Mannion and Malbon getting 2 each for Caverswall. This win takes Shamblers level on points with third placed Cheadle United. In the only other game in the Premier Division we saw Top of the table Butt Lane White Star go even further out in front of Baddeley Green after a 7-3 victory against Chesterton afc, Monro with 2 for Butt Lane and this takes the gap to 11 points between 1st and 2nd.

In division 1, this was another league with only 2 games, but don’t let that fool you. We still managed to see 12 goals in these two games, with top of the table Porthill Park taking a 6-2 win from Cheadle United Reserves. Dean with 4 goals for Porthill. This win opens up a 3 point gap for Porthill at the top of Division 1. And Knutton Matthey reserves came from behind to get a point after a 2-2 draw to Social Services.

In Division 2, Shamblers Reserves walked out 4-1 winners to The Clough, Johnson getting the consolation late on for the Clough. And AFC Thistleberry came from behind to beat Fulford United 3-2.

Now we had no Veterans Divisional games this week but we did have the Umbro Veterans Cup which saw Shamblers Vets ease past Littleborough fc 3-2,

Now on to the rest of the cup games from last weekend and we had, The Staffs FA TB Williamson Cup Round 4, which saw Stoke Vans on the sore end of 5-0 win for Grapes Newchapel, Rigby with 2 goals. Dresden United were beaten 7-3 by Six Towns United. Grapes Newchapel and Six Towns Progress to round 5.

In the PDSL Premier Division Cup Round 1, Sneyd walked out with a 2-1 win over Baddeley Green after 2 Darren Chadwick goals.

In the PDSL Division Cup Round 1 New Finney Gardens and Goldenhills game went to penalties after ending 3-3 AET Finney Gardens Finally got the win the game ended 4-3.

And Finally in the Veterans Division Cup Quarter Finals, Adderely Green Vets got the better of Caverswall vets, 5-3 it ended there and adderely green go on to the semi finals.
