Healthwatch Stoke-on-Trent are volunteering their time during the Coronavirus pandemic
The team at Healthwatch Stoke are supporting their local communities during the Coronavirus pandemic by volunteering their time to offer befriending services to those at risk of isolation or if people just want to have a chat during these difficult times. The team is registered with The Stoke-on-Trent Covid-19 Support Network to ensure that we are available at the right time to meet need.
Dave, our Engagement and Information Lead, is now registered with Beth Johnson Foundation, the national charity dedicated to making the UK age-friendly. Laura our Community Outreach Lead is currently volunteering to do befriending calls for two community organisations. The Beth johnson Foundation telephone Lifestyle Support Service for people aged 50+ and Father Hudson, Young at Heart project. Jamie our Information, Communications and Projects Officer has recently enrolled with the Beth Johnson Foundation for the Cancer Support Programme (CaSP) to support clients who require a ‘telephone buddy’.
