10 GREAT WAYS TO CELEBRATE STAFFORDSHIRE DAY IN NORTH STAFFORDSHIRE
Attractions, community groups and residents in North Staffordshire have joined forces to help create a packed programme for the fourth Staffordshire Day.
The county celebration, organised by Enjoy Staffordshire, supported by Staffordshire County Council and the county’s other local authorities, returns on Wednesday 1st May, with plenty of events and special offers to enjoy in North Staffordshire and beyond.
In the Staffordshire Moorlands, learn about the National Trust’s restoration of Biddulph Grange Garden on a fascinating talk, experience a classic rail journey at Churnet Valley Railway and Foxfield Railway, and get into Alton Towers half price – but only if your name is Molly or Leigh!
In Stoke-on-Trent, discover why the macaques came to Staffordshire at the Monkey Forest, admire the skills of the potters on a free factory tour at World of Wedgwood, or go behind-the-scenes for a look at the archives at the City Central Library.
And in Newcastle-under-Lyme, sample local delights with a special afternoon tea at the Dorothy Clive Garden, meet a host of Staffordshire authors at Newcastle Library, and enjoy great live acts at theLymelight Music Festival.
Philip Atkins, Leader at Staffordshire County Council, said: “We’re delighted with the way people have rallied to the Staffordshire Day cause and there are lots of ways to get involved in North Staffordshire.
“The day is all about celebrating what’s great about our county and just how much there is on offer for visitors.
“In North Staffordshire alone there are a wealth of events and special offers to celebrate our attractions, natural beauty, history and heritage.
“It promises to be a great day and we hope as many people as possible turn out and show their pride in their county.”
