ONE IN A MILLION supporters raise £550,000 for children and young people with life-limiting conditions
In February The Donna Louise embarked on an epic year of fundraising with the launch of its ONE IN A MILLION campaign. The appeal came on the back of the decision to expand its services to support young adults beyond their 19th Birthday and called on supporters to do something this year to raise money for the families who rely on the hospice.
And, since the launch of the campaign, supporters of The Donna Louise have already raised an incredible £550,000 – half way to the campaign’s £1million goal.
Melanie Williams, Head of High Value Partnerships at The Donna Louise, said, “Our ONE IN A MILLION appeal called on supporters across the region to do whatever they can – no matter how big or small – to raise money for the children, young people, and their families, who use our services.
“And, as always they haven’t disappointed us. Together they’ve cycled nearly 25,000 miles; walked and trekked more than 120,000 miles; and run more than 3,500 miles – as well as jumping out of planes, baking cakes, dressing up and filling collection boxes! Wow!”
Now The Donna Louise is thanking everyone who has raised money so far for the families who use its services.
Mel added, “We’re always amazed by the lengths our supporters will go to to raise money for the families who rely on The Donna Louise, and this year we’ve been blown away. Now we simply want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has raised money for us so far. We’re also asking supporters to help us get to the campaign’s £1million goal.”
