Elimination Chamber is the final Raw exclusive pay-per-view ahead of WrestleMania and it will see the new number one contender for the Universal Championship crowned.
The Raw Women’s Championship is also on the line as six-women make history inside the Elimination Chamber for the very first time. The Tag Team Championships are on the line as Sheamus and Cesaro defend against Titus Worldwide and Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt will open up a new chapter in their strange feud as they once again face off on pay-per-view.
As ever The Brass Ring team are on hand to share all of their predictions ahead of the event, this months team includes Jake Waring, Conair Bibby, Emellio Savvas, Andrew Parker, Victoria Hopwood, Chris Rossington and Phillipa Hopwood.
Kick off show
Phillipa, Vickie, Conair, Jake, Chris, Andrew – Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows
Emellio – Miztourage
Thoughts by Conair: Right….err….this is happening? I love The Miztourage and I enjoy Gallows and Anderson but….why? I know that Kickoff matches usually don’t make a lot of sense, and for some reason, they don’t want to use the Cruiserweights outside of 205 Live now, but this absolutely screams “we have nothing for you guys so here, have a wrestle.” Maybe this leads into a program between Finn and The Miz? I don’t know. The Club haven’t exactly thrived since becoming Finn Balor’s personal lackeys but I suppose it’s better than nothing at all. The Club win because I can’t remember the last time Bo and Axel had a real match. I miss The Revival.
Phillipa, Vickie, Conair, Chris, Andrew – Bray Wyatt
Jake, Emellio – Matt Hardy
Thoughts by Phillipa: Matt Hardy and Bray have been going back and forth now for what feels like months, the two men collided at RAW 25 in what was a below-par match from both of their standards. They then went on to eliminate each other from the Royal Rumble last month and it seems that this has only continued to push both men towards each other as part of this strange rivalry. I wonder how WWE will be able to continue this into WrestleMania because I’m pretty sure if I have to watch another Matt Hardy vs Bray Wyatt laugh off I think I might rip my own ears off. Wyatt has had a lot of personal issues recently so a win here could be just what he needs.
Sheamus and Cesaro Vs. Titus Worldwide Brand – Raw Tag Team Championships
Thoughts by Conair: Worldwide! It’s about time we freshen up the Tag Team Division, and I feel like Titus Worldwide are that breath of fresh air right now. Since Summerslam, every single Raw Tag Team Title match has had Seth Rollins and a partner Vs. The Bar, so this is definitely a welcomed change for me. I’m happy to see Apollo [REDACTED] get a chance to shine here. He works well with Sheamus and I’m pretty sure Cesaro could have a great match with a broom. As happy as I am to see something new here, The Bar are definitely on “Crews control” (ha! see that!….nevermind) heading into Wrestlemania 34. I see The Bar winning this because Titus needs to be one of the only people to compete in all of the ATGMBRs and we can’t go letting a championship spoil that prestigious accolade.
Nia Jax Vs. Asuka – WrestleMania Match vs. Undefeated streak
Vickie, Jake, Chris, Andrew – Asuka
Emellio – Nia
Thoughts by Emellio: Nia Jax Vs. Asuka. This is truly a battle of two Goliath’s, each for their own reasons. As a fan of both of these wrestlers, I honestly couldn’t call it. Nia seems to have the advantage as the first look at this match, but if you look at statistics Asuka shouldn’t have a problem. That would be if her opponent wasn’t the beast of the Women’s Division. I think Nia will have the upper hand through most of the match, really pushing Asuka to her limits just in time for Mania, especially since Asuka has never been able to lock in the Asuka Lock on Nia, which means that this match definitely guarantees for an interesting finish. As far as picking a winner I’m going be hopeful that it is Nia, but either way, this is gonna be an amazing match!!!
Alexa Bliss Vs. Sonya Deville Vs. Mandy Rose Vs. Mickie James Vs. Sasha Banks Vs. Bayley – Women’s Elimination Chamber Match For The Raw Women’s Championship
Jake, Andrew – Sasha Banks
Chris – Bayley
Thoughts by Jake – The women of WWE are being badly booked left, right and centre this year. Too often we are seeing six-woman tags lumberjack style stipulations, and although a chamber match is by definition a six-woman affair, they really have got some work to do this weekend in setting up for Mania. Let’s work backwards by process of ‘elimination’. I think we can discount Absolution, who have been pretty lost since Paige’s injury. The same with Mickie James, who is still brilliant, but I can’t see her winning a strap here. That leaves us with 3 potential victors. Alexa could retain, and plough on to face Asuka at Mania. Bayley could be a dark horse, and is slowly starting to build back some momentum she lost last year when she refused to take a cheap shot the top heel and came off looking less intimidating than her own superfan. I’m going to stick my neck out here and predict a title change. Sasha winning makes sense. I’d love to see a heel boss take on Asuka at mania and that still leaves space for the superb Little Miss Bliss to face real-life best friend Nia Jax at the Showcase Of The Immortals. My only concern would be that Alexa tapped out to Sasha on the go-home show, and it’s also worth considering that should Sasha win she could easily drop the strap on Monday night as usual.
Roman Reigns Vs. Elias Vs. The Miz Vs. Finn Balor Vs. Seth Rollins Vs. John Cena Vs. Braun Strowman – Seven-man Elimination Chamber – Winner Gets Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania
Thoughts by Andrew: Reigns wins lol. Alright, I’ll be serious. Reigns wins, laugh out loud. Honestly, I want this to be as unpredictable as an Elimination Chamber should be but come on, can anyone see Reigns not coming out of this victorious? Brock Vs. Lesnar for the title at Wrestlemania is one of the worst kept secrets in wrestling today. It’s no secret that Reigns is still the golden boy and apparently needs another Classic Wrestlemania Moment™, meaning the result of this Elimination Chamber is pretty much a foregone conclusion. That’s not to say that the match won’t be enjoyable – it’ll be absolutely fantastic. The talent involved dictates that this will be an insane match, with the idea of witnessing a Strowman rampage within the Chamber a particularly alluring prospect. But when the dust settles and the new number one contender is announced, we all know that it’s going to be Reigns.
