This year’s Stafford Gatehouse Theatre Summer School production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat opened to widespread acclaim on Wednesday 16th August, with a packed audience offering a standing ovation at the finale.
The talented cast of over 70 local youngsters brilliantly showcased their singing, dancing and acting skills, performing musical numbers such as ‘Jacob and Sons’, ‘Joseph’s Coat’ and ‘Any Dream Will Do’.
The incredible response from the audience was just reward for the hard work the young cast (aged 7-18 years old) have put in since rehearsals began on Monday 31st July; working with the professional team of Director John Ward, Choreographer Verity Bray and Musical Director David Hewson.
Director John was pleased to see the production start so well: “all the cast and crew have worked tremendously hard over the last few weeks, so it was wonderful to see such a positive response.”
He added: “it’s a magical, colourful show with some great songs and lots of surprises; it’s perfect for the whole family.”
Joseph will run until Saturday 19th August, with tickets priced at £12.00 each or £42 for a family ticket, and can be booked by calling the box office on 01785 619080 or by visiting www.staffordgatehousetheatre.co.uk
