VIDEO – Lou Macari Switches Stoke Christmas Lights On

6 Towns Radio were honoured to be asked to host Stoke Christmas Lights Switch On yesterday (Sunday 6th December 2015).

Dan Townley and Rich Hughes, christened 6 Towns Radio’s version of Ant & Dec at the 2014 Stoke Christmas light Switch On, hosted the day and were on hand to help Lou do the countdown.

Lou Macari did the honours of the actual switch on this year and we filmed the event and the following fireworks display provided by local company Firework Empire.

Lou spoke to 6 Towns Radio’s Rob Ledgar just before the switch on and he said “I’ve made it at last, I’ve been asked! This is the first Christmas Lights switch on I’ve ever been asked to do, as soon as I got the call from Alan (Barrett – a key organiser of the event) I said Yeah without any hesitation, love to do it…and then it was cancelled and I never thought it was going to happen for me. They then re arranged it for tonight obviously.

“After he asked me to do it I rang my pal Nello ‘cos I was a little bit excited, and I thought at last, I’m going to get one over him because he’s doing everything at this moment in time. So I rang him up and said Neil, I’m doing Christmas lights at Stoke, fireworks as well. Oh he said..I did them last year! So he slaughtered me”

The interview will be played in full on Boots Bats ‘N’ Balls on Saturday 12th December between 10 am and Midday.
